News ______________________________ Monday 21 April 2008 Cantaloop's new album I.C.H.I.L.E. is available now on iTunes. The Press are saying: "Blending funk with hip-hop they create a real party album in the great tradition of artists like Sly And The Family Stone and De La Soul." - The Beats Surrender "If you’re after a Hip Hop album with out all the bullsit that comes with that scene then maybe you ought to check these guys out. - Street Voice "I.C.H.I.L.E. is a breathtaking album of mature, modern music that's hard to pigeonhole but easy to absorb - loads to admire and nothing to fault. Distinctly hip-hop/rap oriented but with massive jazzy undercurrents, blissfully soulful vocalisation and a bucket-full of pop sensibility, Cantaloop have contrived to come up with a style that's fresh, bright and easy on the ear." - Toxic Pete
Wednesday 16 April 2008 Cantaloop's new single In The Frame is available now on iTunes. The Press are saying: "In The Frame is a head nodding, foot tapping soulful hip-hop track that shows you don’t have to stick to a guns, girls and diamonds lyric to make a quality track." - thebeatsurrender.co.uk "If this were summer I would have this blasting out of my speakers as I crash out in a field of green." - the-rocker.co.uk "In The Frame, showcases Cantaloop's vibrant mix of pop, soul, funk and hip-hop, the track features a wonderfully soulful and smooth deliver by frontman Dannie Dee, whilst the rest of the band create a funky backing track complete with bouncy elastic basslines and obligatory record deck abuse." - Rhythm & Booze "Funk n Hip Hop at it’s best. 8.5/10" - myspace.com/streetvoice "In The Frame is a crackin' piece of 'pop' music just for pop's sake!" - toxicpete.co.uk "Bounce, bounce, bounce - a tune destined for greater things, like a playful Lemar rocking out with RHCP, a summer anthem of christ-like proportions" - subba-cultcha.co.uk

I.C.H.I.L.E.
ft the Fun Lovin' Criminals “Well worth checking out. There’s something for everyone” - Mojo “Hits you with immediate effect. The optimistic atmosphere of this album will make you feel good for no particular reason!” – Blues & Soul ‘I.C.H.I.L.E.’ (Ice Cream Headache In Left Eye) is Cantaloop’s latest album and what an album it is. The music is as eclectic, visceral and witty as the title suggests. At a point in their careers where most acts are struggling for new ideas, Cantaloop have created some of their best work yet. Produced by Gavin Monaghan (Editors, Scott Matthews) the album immediately grabs your attention through it’s refusal to be pigeon holed. From the D ‘n’ B beats and jazz-lounge bass lines of ‘Friendly Fire’ to the blasting horns on opening track and lead single ‘Brotherhood’ Cantaloop never get bogged down in any one genre. This diversity is a clear reflection and result of the array of different acts that Monaghan has worked with, along with the band’s own genre spanning tastes. However, it is not only the instrumentation that is ear catching, vocalist Dannie Dee’s biting social commentary and fluent lyricism is guaranteed to turn heads. Dee uses the album as a platform to air his views on everything from personal friendships to the state of modern society with the sort of insight that marks him out as a truly original lyricist. Cantaloop also excel as a live band, each member being accomplished instrumentalists. Unsurprisingly their show stopping live performances have won them prestigious support slots for the likes of De la Soul and Fun Lovin’ Criminals. The latter were so impressed by Cantaloop that they remix live favourite ‘Real Thing’ as a bonus track for the album – with plans to remix the entire thing in the near future. At a time when many of their peers are lacking in both style and substance, Cantaloop provide both in ample supply. This is bling-free hip-hop without gimmicks, without pretension and without equal! Monday 3 March 2008 Cantaloop - In The Frame Debut single number #18 in countdown chart - Hip Hop Connections. “Well worth checking out. There’s something for everyone” - Mojo “Hits you with immediate effect. The optimistic atmosphere of this album will make you feel good for no particular reason!” – Blues & Soul In the Frame marks the 2nd single from the killer forthcoming album I.C.H.I.L.E. and is a pure, vibrant funk/pop and 'bling-free' hip-hop track tinged with soul. This is hip-hop without gimmicks and without pretension. Cantaloop pedal music to the grown up hip hop contingent and this single also features a murderously cool mix from the Fun Lovin' Criminals. However, it is not only the instrumentation that is ear catching, vocalist Dannie Dee’s biting social commentary and fluent lyricism is guaranteed to turn heads. Dee uses the forthcoming album as a platform to air his views on everything from personal friendships to the state of modern society with the sort of insight that marks him out as a truly original lyricist. Cantaloop also excel as a live band, each member being accomplished instrumentalists. Unsurprisingly their show stopping live performances have won them prestigious support slots for the likes of De la Soul and Fun Lovin’ Criminals. The latter have been so impressed by the band that they have joined them live on stage on many occasions and now provide them with this exclusive remix.
